Thrilling news from Jolly Olde England, Britpop fans: Blur is reuniting for a show in Hyde Park on July 3, 2009!
Though you may rightfully ask yourself, "Why are you telling me this? I live in Seattle," we all know what tends to happen with reunions -- an ill-advised tour. Though there's no word on that, there is word that even Graham Coxon is on board, like some kind of Christmas miracle. This is the first time the entire lineup will be together on stage since 2000.
I believe there is a saying, something to the effect of "Every time Damon Albarn changes his mind about a Blur reunion, an angel gets its wings...." Let's hope everyone can keep their egos in check long enough to inspire them to eventually travel stateside.

So, once in like 1999 or so, me and a friend were headed out for the night to see some band I can't even remember who it was. We saw an ad that Blur was playing this tiny, 200-seat venue as we're on the way to the other club, but thought that couldn't have been right.
It was.
I still regret that.

I have always regretted that I didn't go see them when they played at the Showbox on the Think Tank tour.
That did happen, right?
I lived in Spokane then, but I could have driven out here.
So, this is great news.

Yeah, I was at that show, and I thought it was underwhelming. It's not the same without the Coxon!!

Jessicles- excellent Blur pun ;) Well played, Madame.
Now that Coxon is off the sauce, at least half the drama is resolved.
I don't wanna be too excited, but I kinda can't help it. I really did love me some Blur.
Now, if only Jarvis Cocker would decide to record again with Pulp, my little Britpop-lovin' heart would pop with glee.
